Frequently Asked Questions
How long do Sculptra results last?
In the major clinical studies, Sculptra Aesthetic patients were still showing improvement 2-years after their last treatment!
What areas are best for Sculptra injection?
Sculptra yields best results when used for deep-volumizing in areas that have thicker skin. These areas include the cheeks, temples, and jaw. Sculptra should not be used around the eyes or in the lips.
How much Sculptra do I need?
It is impossible to predict how much you will need to attain your desired results, but on average people are getting 4-vials. (2-vials, at 2-treatments, 4-6 weeks apart.)
How does Sculptra work?
Sculptra is not a wrinkle filler but acts as a bio-activator or volumizer. It works by stimulating the body to produce new collagen at the sites of injection, thereby replacing lost volume and contours to restore a fuller, more youthful appearance.
What is Sculptra made of?
Sculptra is made of poly L lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic biodegradable polymer that is both resorbable and bio-compatible. (PLLA has been widely used for many years in dissolvable stitches, so it’s compatibility with the body is proven.)
Where can Sculptra be used?
Sculptra can be used to restore volume to hollow areas of the temples, cheeks, and chin, as well as to define the jaw-line. It is not recommended for use in and around the lips. (Lips and wrinkles are best treated with other products such as Restylane.)
Sculptra Aftercare?
Applying an ice pack within the first 24 hours of treatment will help reduce swelling
Massaging the area a few times a day for several days is recommended.
(You can follow the 5-5-5 rule; you should massage your face for 5-minutes, 5x a day, for 5-days after your treatment). Avoid direct sunlight and UV lamp exposure
Is Sculptra Safe?

How long does Sculptra last?
The lasting effects of Sculptra vary from patient to patient, however, studies have shown that some Sculptra patients have seen results last up to (or longer than!) two years from the first treatment. Periodic touch-up treatments will maintain the desired effects.
What are the side effects of Sculptra?
The most common side effects may include bruising, swelling and soreness at the injection site. (Please note: this is not intended to be a comprehensive list). These side effects are common to all dermal-fillers and are typically temporary.
How is Sculptra administered?
Each treatment consists of a few injections to the areas to be volumized i.e; temple/cheeks/chin/jawline. The product is administered with local anesthesia and any discomfort is minimal.
